Investec Cape Town Art Fair (2019 and 2020)
For two years I was contracted to run the social media campaign for Africa’s biggest art fair, the Investec Cape Town Art Fair as part of the Fiera Milano stable of global art fairs. The primary channel for the social media campaign was Instagram and Facebook. The purpose of the campaign was to generate awareness, up the following count and convert to ticket sales. When I started in September 2018 the account had 7 000 followers and by the time the second campaign was over in February 2020 it had almost doubled to 13 000. The 2020 edition also saw the highest number of ticket sales in the fair’s 8-year history.
My role was multifaceted. From developing the content strategy for each campaign to creating, sourcing images, researching, and writing the content, to community management. I also contributed blog pieces that required in-depth interviews with various stakeholders. I developed relationships with PR companies and each of the galleries (both South African and international) representing at each edition of the fair. The best part of working with this client was the all-women team.
